Also we know that bikes does not gives claimed mileage under city conditions but yet with some simple tricks we can be close to that mileage. Below we will be pointing out some 5 simple yet effective tips which will definitely help you to increase you bikes mileage as well as performance.

1. Do Not Rash Drive :

When you do Rash Driving it forces the engine to burn extra fuel every time you rotate the throttle, which means that now you bike need some extra fuel for travelling the same distance. When you do not rash drive then you bike’s mileage increases and this is effective immediately. But I know many people have rash driving in their habit and this step will take time but believe me when you leave if it will not only save you fuel but will also make you a disciplined rider and save your bike’s engine in a long run.

2. Consistence Bike services :

As human needs rest and sleep regularly to perform well, bikes also maintenance at regular intervals. The maintenance includes changing the engine oil, air filter, cleaning the carburettor, these will help the engine to work efficiently and will increase bikes mileage as well.

3. Ride bike in economy speed :

Ride the in economy speed , usually the economy speed is between 30 Kmph – 50 Kmph but its always given in green range in your speedo meter. Addition to this you should also shift you gears smoothly and keep the right speed for the right gear. Definitely this will help you achieving some extra mileage for you bike.

4. Ensure appropriate Tyre Pressure:

Under-inflated tires cause more rolling resistance, reducing fuel efficiency. Check your tire pressure regularly and ensure it’s at the manufacturer-recommended level. With the right tyre pressure, the surface area is more apt leading to no unnecessary power loss. You can get an idea of the recommended pressure settings in your bike’s owner manual.

5. Avoid Idiling :

If you are stopped for more then a couple of minutes then turn off the engine. Specially at high density traffic and at crossing, when you make this your habit it will prove to be a better tip to save some fuel. Currently there are some bikes/scooty available in Indian market with this technology as inbuilt, e.g., Honda Activa.
